#2. Heyuri Downtime
Published: 2024-01-04 [Thu] 03:37, by Anonymous
Heyuri, Ayashii, and Vidlii have been down for several days;
apparently, a rival network is DDOSing them. Kaguya said they are
currently switching hosts and the network should be back up in a few
days.

A member of #heyuri reports the following on 2023-01-03 at 03:06:

< tsubo> Those BitView faggots DDoSed VidLii, which took down Heyuri
(and Ayashii to an extent) along with it.

As an unrelated note: World2ch.net is still up, which I had assumed
before was part of the Heyuri Network (formerly Kolyma) but apparently
it is not.

It seems that Heyuri is back up, while ayashii remains down.
Some more commentary on recent downtime comes from #heyuri:

< Flair> Kaguya said Heyuri is down because the server host don't want
to deal with reports
< Flair> some others said it's because Vidlii was attacked and Heyuri
got caught in the middle
< Flair> both can't be true (or at least i hope not)

> I don't know whos targeting Heyuri. But according to some credible
sources an islamist fundamentalist group is behind the attack on kaguyas
turkish imageboard..... (2024/1/5-03:24:49)

IP's from heyuri since thats where these attacking IP's seem to be
comign from (2024/1/5-03:26:18)

>both can't be true (or at least i hope not)
Actually, they can ^^;

1. On January 1st, the servers were DDoS'd - kaguya implied that it was
related to Kereste (Turkish imageboard hosted on the same servers), but
I'm not sure anyone really knows. Neither kaguya nor "bobo" has
mentioned VidLii once in regards to this, so I'm not sure where that
rumor came from

2. Kaguya contacted the server host for assistance and received a
response stating that the required technicians weren't available until
the 2nd due to it being New Year's Day

3. Many hours later/the next day, kaguya got hit with a service
termination email. The stated reason was along the lines of "copyright
breaches and unlawful content", plus something about requiring "too
much resources" (as in, the server host didn't have enough staff/
patience/desire to deal with all the reports, complaints, etc.)

Kaguya said their claims were bullshit since they hadn't received any
requests from the server host in 2 months, and most of the past
problems were related to soyjak.party (which had moved elsewhere ages
ago)

Sidenote: Heyuri's new servers have been DDoS'd a couple of times
already since coming back online

>but I'm not sure anyone really knows
It shows up on CloudFlare when the traffic of a site dramatically
increases, so I know for certain thanks to that system.

There is one guy allegedly from the Gülen movement on kereste (He often
talks about it and I believe he did show some proof too, but I'd still
take it with a grain of salt) that sometimes attacks the site, though
it's unrelated to the actual movement. He is technically savvy enough to
have caused us trouble in the past, but he didn't claim this attack was
his so far which is a bit uncharacteristic for him.

>Many hours later/the next day, kaguya got hit with a service termination
>email
It came during the same day they didn't have technicians available, past
17 UTC.

Also Terrahost dropped kiwifarms in july 2023 after hosting them for 8
months, so I wanted it to known that they are simply not an imageboard
friendly host anymore. There are cheaper alternatives that seem to be
more suitable to host questionable websites like ours'.

It seems Indonesian IP addresses have been blocked from Heyuri,
as my home IP address (located in Indonesia) is rejected by CloudFlare,
despite the local ISPs not DNS-blocked Heyuri (as they do with Reddit,
porn sites, etc).

Just funny to me that my VPN can still access the site, you'd think that
VPNs would be a higher priority than home IP addresses for anti-spam
measures.

I can still access Ayashii at least so it doesn't really matter.

#8. return of kuz?
Published: 2024-03-04 [Mon] 15:45, by Anonymous
KOLYMA (kuz) announces a return: http://kolyma.org/

Of course, the site is broken, and as of 2024-03-04 has not received the
updates promised for 2024-03-01. (The copyright year is also incorrect)

My friend has some reflection on this news:
> idk what he's doing at this point, he got his massive audience with
> soyjak.party, he created a whole fake history around himself, became
> an "internet mystery" like he wanted, then faked his death. He could
> have ended it there and he'd go down in niche internet autist history.

https://kolyma.org/ now redirects to an old dead cryptocurrency...
https://susukino.com/

... which seems to be associated with Jim Watkins (8chan buyer guy)
another much detested cancer in the "alt-chan" scene

over a week later and it seems kuz is still deciding to settle on the
"big announcement" of kolyma network resurrection being the shilling
of some 8ch-related shitcoin, what a sad end to kuz's story
